There were torch-light demonstrations in the Istanbul neighborhoods of Bahçelievler and Avcýlar last night, protesting Turkey's ongoing aerial bombardment of the Federal Kurdistan Region in Iraq, as well as Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) leader Abdullah Öcalan's isolation from his lawyers.
Protesters in Bahçelievler's Zafer neighborhood marched down Pazarpazarý Avenue and shouted slogans such as "Long live leader APO [Abdullah Öcalan]." After the march, they gave a press release. Then, a group of young protesters blocked traffic using fireworks.
Protesters in Avcýlar marched along Marmara Avenue.
