Protest in Bremen against Turkish use of chemical weapons in Kurdistan

A rally took place in Bremen in protest at the Turkish attacks on the Medya Defense Zones in South Kurdistan and especially against the use of chemical weapons against guerrilla forces.

On Monday, protests took place all over Europe against the Turkish attack and the use of chemical weapons against the guerrillas in the Medya Defense Zones in southern Kurdistan (northern Iraq). Activists also gathered in Bremen to protest the genocidal war of the Turkish state against the Kurds.

At the rally, Xezal Yalçın, the co-chair of Komela Biratî, stated, "Today, the Turkish state is attacking everywhere in Kurdistan. But it is helpless in the face of guerrilla resistance. That is why it is resorting to chemical weapons, which are banned under international law. It does not shy away from using them. But to date, there have been no sanctions. The whole world turns a blind eye to it. Although there was clear evidence that poison gas was used in Werxelê last year, nothing happened. The whole world should put a stop to the Turkish state. Those who do not do so make themselves accomplices."

Xezal Yalçın further stated, "This day is the day to expand resistance and stand up for the brave children of the Kurdish people. This is the task of all Kurds. Everyone should do everything in their power wherever they are. We must protest and take to the streets, carry out actions and make it clear that we do not accept the occupation."
