Şakir Çal, who had sustained an injury while participating in a protest demo in Siirt in solidarity with the resistance in Kobanê and to protest at ISIS (Islamic State of Iraq and al Sham) gang attacks, has lost his fight for life in the hospital where he was being treated.

Şakir Çal had been shot in the neck and seriously wounded during the protests in solidarity with the resistance in Kobanê on 8 October. He was taken to Siirt hospital and treated in the intensive care unit. He passed away late yesterday evening.

The man's body was later sent to the morgue of the Siirt state hospital for a post mortem.

With the death of Şakir Çal, the death toll in Siirt and its districts has increased to 6, and that in North Kurdistan and Turkey to 45.
