Protests against the AKP/MHP regime in three countries

In France, Sweden and Switzerland, activists have taken to the streets against the AKP/MHP regime's attacks on the Kurdish population and the HDP.

In the last few days one arrest report after the other comes from Turkey and Northern Kurdistan. The women's movement, the Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) and self-organised aid associations are particularly affected. Cases of torture and abuses in connection with police and military operations are also increasing significantly. Protest against this is also forming in the diaspora. Due to the pandemic, protest actions were deliberately kept small and with distance rules. On Wednesday, activists took to the streets in Bordeaux, Lausanne and Gothenburg, among others.

Bordeaux

In Bordeaux, the Kurdish women's movement and the CDKB association organised a small rally. The passers-by were informed about the events in Turkey and Northern Kurdistan by leaflets and speeches.

Lausanne

In Lausanne, Switzerland, activists of the Democratic Kurdish Community Center gathered in front of the church of St. Laurent. Slogans were chanted against the Turkish war policy and repression. A speaker on behalf of the Democratic Kurdish Community Center said: "The Turkish state is pursuing a policy of massacre and repression against the Kurdish people. Whether in Northern Syria and Rojava or in Turkey and Kurdistan, the Kurdish people are fighting against fascism. This is a struggle for humanity."

Gothenburg

In Gothenburg, Sweden the Democratic Kurdish Community Center (DTKM) and Şehîd Selma Women's Commune organised a demonstration. The activists demanded a boycott of Turkish tourism and Turkish goods.
