Protests in German cities against Turkish invasion of Rojava

Demonstrations against the Turkish war of invasion against Northern Syria were held in Hanover, Frankfurt, Stuttgart and Kiel.

Kurds and their friends have been taking to the streets in protest at the Turkish genocidal campaign seeking to invade North and East Syria since the launch of the military offensive on October 9.

As Turkey’s offensive in the region continue, so do the demonstrations worldwide in protest at the invasion and grave war crimes and crimes against humanity committed by Turkish forces and allied ISIS/Al-Nusra mercenaries during the past one month.

According to the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), an area of about 1,100 square kilometers has been occupied so far, comprising 56 villages, in addition to many farms in the north of Ain Issa town, east of Kobani city, east of Ras al-Ain and northwest of Tal Tamr.

Numerous cities in Germany today protested against the invasion of Northern Syria by the Turkish army, calling for an end to the attacks and sanctions against Turkey.

HANOVER

Kurds and their friends continued their protests in the German city of Hanover where they have taken to the streets since the launch of Turkey’s offensive against northern Syria.

Speaking at today’s demo in the busiest street of the city, KON-MED Co-chair Tahir Koçer called upon the Kurds to claim the resistance of Rojava everywhere they are.

FRANKFURT

Kurdish youth movement and international campaign #Riseup4 Rojava organised a demonstration in the Frankfurt city which saw the participation of masses in solidarity with Rojava.

The march from Frankfurt Romer Square to Rossmarkt was followed by a rally where spakers highlighted that Rojava has fought a great battle for humanity.

“The Turkish state has attacked Rojava to avenge ISIS. In spite of this, European states remain silent and do not take a concrete step. We must raise our voice everywhere against the invasion of Rojava. Our internationalist comrades Andok Cotkar, Ivanna Hoffman and Dilsöz Bahar fell fighting Turkish invasion for us. We must claim Rojava in all areas,” said the speakers.

STUTTGART

International campaign Defend Rojava organised a demonstration at Stuttgart’s Lautenschlager Strasse in protest at the invasion of Rojava. The protest march continued till the Schlosspolatz Square.

KIEL

The demonstration against Turkish invasion of Rojava was joined by Kurdish and German people as well as activists from MLKP, ANTI-FA, Alevi Society, Kurdish Union and many other institutions.

Speaking here, an ANTI-FA activist remembered German internationalist Andok Cotkar who fell fighting in Rojava and vowed to support his struggle to the end.
