VAN

DBP and HDP parliamentarians and administrators, KJA activists, NGO representatives and Peace Mothers Assembly members held a press conference today in Van to condemn the October 9 Conspiracy against Öcalan. HDP and DBP parliamentarians addressed the participants and called for an immediate end to the isolation of Öcalan.

ROME

Kurdish people and their allies gathered at Largo di Torre Argentina Square to protest the October 9 Conspiracy and demand freedom for Öcalan. Protestors distributed pamphlets on Öcalan’s conditions, and Italians and tourists showed great interest in the protest.

PARIS

Led by the France Democratic Kurdish Council (CDK-F), hundreds of people med at République square at 15:00 yesterday and marched to Chatlet square. A rally took place in Chatlet Square and CDK-F president Vedat Bingöl addressed the protestors. Bingöl recalled that Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Öcalan was handed over to Turkey in an international conspiracy on 9 October 1998, and reiterated that they would continue their protests until Öcalan is freed from İmralı Prison.

ATHENS

Kurdish people and their allies gathered at Sitagma Square in front of the Greek parliament in Athens, and marched to the Turkish Consulate in Athens around 17:00 yesterday. Protestors condemned the EU’s support for a dictators like Erdoğan, and condemned the October 9 Conspiracy. Greece Kurdish Peoples’ Assembly representative Kendal Semsur addressed the protestors and said that their protests would continue until the October 9 Conspiracy is defeated.

Syriza Youth Organization participated in and supported the protest.

ARNHEM

Protestors gathered in Arnhem, the Netherlands yesterday to condemn the October 9 Conspiracy against Öcalan and demand Öcalan’s freedom.

COPENHAGEN

Denmark Democratic Kurdish People’s Assembly held a press statement inVesterbros Torv in Copenhagen and condemned the October 9 and February 15 conspiracies against Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Öcalan. Assembly representatives also criticized the AKP government’s policies and crackdown on the free press. Protestors marched from Versterbros Torv to the Copenhagen Municipality, and held a rally here in which activist Annette Mørk described the PKK as a people’s liberation movement and Erdoğan as a terrorist.

STOCKHOLM

Led by Sweden Democratic Kurdish Society Center, Sara Kurdish Women’s Union and Ciwanen Azad, people of Kurdistan and their allies came together in Humlegården Park, Stockholm to make a press statement and march in order to protest Öcalan’s isolation and the AKP government’s massacre of Kurdish people. Protestors called upon the Swedish government to cut all ties with Turkey and take initiative for the freedom of Öcalan.

COLOGNE

People of Kurdistan and their allies gathered in Eberplatz Square to hold a rally and distribute pamphlets on the October 9 Conspiracy and Öcalan’s imprisonment in İmralı Island. Organizations such as AGİF and MLPD supported the rally, in which protestors demanded Öcalan’s freedom. A YJK-E representative emphasized the dangers of the international conspiracy against Öcalan, and author Aziz Tunç, MLPD representative Mathias Sauter and AGİF representative Şafak Deniz addressed the protestors.

HANNOVER

Nearly 1500 people gathered in front of Hannover Train Station at 14:30 yesterday to condemn Erdoğan’s crackdown on the free press in Turkey and isolation of Öcalan. Protestors also condemned the October 9 Conspiracy against Öcalan and demanded Öcalan’s freedom.

HAMBURG

People of Kurdistan and their allies organized a march in Hachmannplatz, Hamburg at 16:00 yesterday to demand the freedom of Öcalan and condemn the October 9 Conpiracy. Author Anja Flash addressed the protestors and emphasized the role of Öcalan’s thoughts on the structures of democratic autonomy that has taken root in Rojava. Lastly, Flach emphasized the need for Öcalan’s freedom for the development of a process of peace and democracy in the Middle East.
