Protests spread after dead of Kurdish boy in Bismil

Following the death of a Kurdish boy, people in Bismil and across the region protested police brutality.

A second police intervention left many injured mostly in the head with gas bombs in Bismil as clashes continue.

Eighteen-year-old Ibrahim Oruç were shot twice in the chest and died in the hospital, while other badly injured young boy, Mehmet Yalçin and Gültekin Kuþlu remain at the intensive care unit in the Dicle University Hospital in Diyarbakýr.

Allegedly using real bullets during the interventions in Diyarbakýr, police injured three citizens in their legs.

Police raided on Democratic Solution Tent in Baðlar, a district of Diyarbakýr.

Protest demonstrations are going on in Çukurca, a district of Hakkari, Antep, Silopi, a district of Þýrnak.

In Silopi, Zeliha Kesik, a third grade student, was also injured due to being hit by a gas bombs in her belly.

BDP former Co-Chair Selahattin Demirtaþ called on local governor of Bismil to withdraw soldiers and police to stop clashes.

A committee, including many mayors, BDP former deputies and candidates, BDP executives came to Bismil as the Interior Minister ordered an investigation regarding the events in Bismil.
