PYD Athens representative visited hunger strikers in Strasbourg

PYD Athens representative consultant, lawyer Stratos Nikoloudis stressed that hunger strike actions exposed the silence of the European countries and that silence is the expression of the complicity in the concept of war against Kurds.

PYD Athens representative consultant, lawyer Stratos Nikoloudis visited activists who have been on hunger strike in Strasbourg for 76 days demanding the end of isolation against Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan.

During the visit, Nikoloudis said isolation was a crime against humanity and added that this visit was intended to support the activists.

He said the hunger strikers are carrying out an “historic and heroic action. Because this is an action for freedom, democracy, human rights and justice.”

Stratos Nikoloudis stressed that these actions also exposed the silence of the European countries and that silence is the expression of the complicity in the concept of war against Kurds.

Stating that the Kurdish people are fighting for democracy and freedom, Nikoloudis pointed out that it is a humanitarian duty to stand by this struggle.

Hunger striker and academic Kardo Bokani welcomed the PYD Athens representative on behalf of the activists and said that this visit made them happy.

“The Kurdish people - said Bokani - will pave the way to the freedom of Öcalan as they cannot be considered separated from him.”

Underlining the international conspiracy against Kurds, Kardo Bokani said that the European countries are the most important actors in this conspiracy and that the heavy isolation imposed by the Turkish State on the Kurdish People's Leader should be interpreted as a continuation of the conspiracy.

Bokani stated that the silence of European countries should be considered as an indicator of the continuation of the conspiracy.

Ending his remarks, Bokani emphasized that they are determined to continue their hunger strike until isolation is lifted and called on everyone in favour of peace and democracy to act.
