PYD members on 5-day solidarity hunger strike in Strasbourg

Kurds from Strasbourg did not leave the protesters alone and were coming and going to the place where the PYD members are on hunger strike and where the Vigil is taking place.

Members of the Democratic Union Party (PYD) were the first group to go on a 5-day solidarity hunger strike in front of the Council of Europe building in Strasbourg.

At the same time, the Freedom for Öcalan Vigil continues in the area where the Committee for the Prevention of Torture (CPT) is located.

The PYD members handed out leaflets on their second day of fast explaining to passersby why Kurds are on hunger strike and why they are asking the end of isolation against Abdullah Öcalan.

The PYD members also explained to people stopping by the effect of the fascist Turkish policies on Kurds.

This week, the Vigil has been taken over by 4 Kurds from Basel.
