The president of the Izmir branch of the KURDI-DER association, Ramazan Kaygısız, and 4 city executives of the DBP, were attacked by a fascist group of more than 10 people with knives when they called on the people to protest ISIS gang attacks on Kobanê.

The attack took place in the Gürçeşme neighbourhood of Konak district of Izmir, where Ramazan Kaygısız and the local leaders of DBP called for protests against the Turkish state-supported attacks by ISIS on Kobanê. The group assaulted the Kurdish activists with weapons and knives, wounding Ramazan Kaygısız in the hip.
