Following the revenge promise of Turkish Prime Minister Erdoðan and President Gül, fascist attacks on buildings of the BDP (Peace and Democracy Party) continue in many provinces of Turkey since yesterday when more than twenty soldiers of Turkish Armed Forces were killed by Kurdish guerillas in Çukurca district of Hakkari.
A group of around 50 nationalist demonstrators attempted to hang a Turkish flag on the building of the BDP Central Office in Ankara on the pretext of protesting the clash in Çukurca at the night before.
Fascist attacks and provocations were also seen in Antep where a group tried to attack the BDP building and in Kýrklareli where natioanalist students forced all students at Kýrklareli University to sing the the turkish national anthem and insulted the nonparticipators as “supporters of the PKK”.
A tension and clash was lived yesterday in Mustafa Kemal Neighborhood of Istanbul where a group of nationalists wanted to stage a march to protest the attacks in Çukurca. While neighborhood residents didn’t allow the march of fascists, a clash broke out between residents and police who attacked with gas bombs and TOMA vehicles. Many people were beaten and taken into custody during the clash.
Similar actions were also seen in Nazilli district of Aydýn and Bornova district of Ýzmir where BDP buildings were attacked and demolished by racist groups who warned that “Kurds don’t have a security of life” and hung giant Turkish flags on the buildings.
On the other hand, at least two Kurdish students at Istanbul University Faculty of Law were injured as a result of an attack by a group of fascists who entered the campus and attacked on several Kurdish students. While security officers watched the event without intervention, it is claimed that plainclothes policemen at the university were also involved in the attack.
Meanwhile, many houses were raided in Uludere district of Þýrnak and Bulanýk, Malazgirt and Varto districts of Muþ. While reportedly many people were taken into custody as a result of raids that were carried out by soldiers, masked special operations teams and action force police officers, BDP municipality buildings and offices were also searched in detail. Among the detainees are Bulanýk Deputy Mayor Ali Topçu, Varto Municipality Deputy Executive Assistant Murat Aydýn, Malazgirt BDP District Chair Takyettin Özkahraman and Malazgirt Deputy Mayor Fahri Atalay. Police also seized all documents and computers.
While the raids were carried out by the instruction of Van Prosecution Office, detainees will be taken to Muþ, say the reports coming.
