The Constitutional Court has appointed a rapporteur to investigate the case of Hatip Dicle who was stripped off of his legal mandate by the Supreme Election Board.
Remarking that the rapporteur has been appointed as a matter of procedures, Dicle's lawyers stated that the Constitutional Court will make a decision after the rapporteur presents the report to the delegation of the court.
Labor, Democracy and Freedom Block's Diyarbakýr MP Hatip Dicle's lawyers appealed to the Constitutional Court (AYM) on June 27.
Making the application on the basis of 85th article of the Constitution, lawyer Levent Kanat reminded that Dicle was stripped off of his mandate after taking it on June 20, eight days after the elections when he was elected in Diyarbakýr with a record vote of around 80 thousand.
Diyarbakýr 5th and 6th High Criminal Courts rejected the demands for release of other five detained elected MPs at the weekend.
