Rebuilding of Raqqa shows success

The Raqqa city's various committees are working to resolve the destruction by the Islamic State. Raqqa gets back its old beauty.

After the liberation of the Raqqa city from the hands of the Islamic State (ISIS), the reconstruction of the city is in full swing. Raqqa Civil Council’s Park and Gardens Committee has begun clearing the main streets and the city's largest park, al-Bayday.

Mîzer El-Ehmed, in charge of the committee, emphasizes that Raqqa is working to restore its old splendor. This work will continue despite the limited resources available to them.

The telecommunications network was also destroyed by the ISIS. Raqqa Civil Council Communications Committee has begun to repair the telephone lines destroyed by the Islamic State.

As Mehmud Ebdi Ibrahim, a member of the Communications Committee of the Civil Council of Raqqa reports, the city's telephone network was completely destroyed by the ISIS.

"Due to the destruction of the telephone lines by the gangs, the population cannot establish connection. We have great difficulty repairing the network because our resources are very limited. It's pretty hard to restore the nets yourself. We asked Siemens and Arkson for help, "says Ibrahim.

The repair of mobile networks is also expected to begin in the coming months.
