Congolese Hamedu Loufa Sayýd was found dead in the cell of Yumuktepe Police Station in Mersin. According to police statement, Sayýd died because of a heart attack. His body was taken to the Adana Forensic Institution for an autopsy.

Nijerian Festus Okey was killed by police at Beyoðlu Police Headquarters on August 20, 2007. The trial on the case has not reached any conclusion yet.
