Release decision has been issued for Mardin Co-mayor Ahmet Türk who is among the Kurdish politicians held hostage by the AKP government.

Türk has been jailed in Elazığ T Type Closed Prison since his arrest on November 24, 2016 following the appointment of a trustee in his place. In mid January, he was transferred from Istanbul's Silivri Prison to Elazığ.
