Rojava administration meets with Spanish parliamentary committee

Abdulkarim Omar, European Representative of the AANES, is continuing his European tour as part of attempts to promote political and diplomatic relations. Omar met with the Foreign Relations Committee of the Spanish Parliament in Madrid today.

Abdulkarim Omar, European Representative of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES), visited the Foreign Relations Committee of the Spanish Parliament to promote political and diplomatic relations. The Spanish Committee renewed its support for the Autonomous Administration and condemned the Turkish attacks.

The Spanish delegation included Jon Inarritu, Mariona Illamola, Antón Gómez, Albert Botran, Marta Rosiqe and Alonso Suárez.

During the meeting, the effects of the Syrian crisis on Syrians, the latest developments in North and East Syria and the Autonomous Administration project were discussed.

Abdulkarim Omar told ANHA that they informed the committee about the political and economic obstacles facing the AANES, the threats of the Turkish state against the region, and the deadly drone attacks against citizens, SDF commanders and Autonomous Administration officials.

Omar said that the committee thanked the Kurdish people and the SDF for their combat against ISIS. He added that the Spanish parliamentarians appreciated the Autonomous Administration project and would support it.

Omar noted that the parliamentarians condemned the Turkish attacks on the region and stated that they would put pressure on Turkey to halt its attacks.
