President of the Group of the Progressive Alliance of Socialists and Democrats in the European Parliament, Gianni Pittella, has sent a letter to Chairpersons of Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP), Selahattin Demirtaş and Figen Yüksekdağ.

Expressing his sincere condolences for the victims of the bomb attack of last Saturday, many of whom were HDP members or supporters, Pittella said their hearts and thoughts are with those who were killed or injured and with their families and friends.

The letter underlined that S&D Group will continue to support HDP's efforts to create prosperity, social justice, respect for minority rights, and lasting peace in and for Turkey.

S&D Group President said he looks forward to having the pleasure to welcome HDP Co-chairs in the European Parliament.
