Scottish writer Kelman in solidarity with Leyla Güven

International solidarity with HDP MP Leyla Güven who is on an indefinite hunger strike against the isolation of Abdullah Öcalan, is growing.

Scottish writer James Kelman has published a message of solidarity with DTK (Democratic Society Congress) Co-chair and HDP (Peoples Democratic Party) MP Leyla Güven who is on day 148 of indefinite hunger strike demanding the end of the isolation imposed by the Turkish regime on Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Öcalan.

Kelman stated that British Isles are not stranger to hunger strikes, one of the most distinctive forms of non-violent resistance. He laid emphasis on his wish for peace in Turkey and conveyed his solidarity to Kurdish politician Leyla Güven.
