YPG-led Syrian Democratic Forces are making further advances against ISIS in the Operation Cizire Storm south of Hesekê (Hasakah).
Following fierce clashes with ISIS mercenaries, SDF fighters liberated the villages of Shamas and Hilwa 18 km east of Shaddadi.
SDF fighter Hisên El-Hemdî, who is joining the campaign, stated that ISIS gangs are using villagers as human shields. He underlined that their operations will continue until all the villages in the region are cleared of ISIS.
SDF teams have started clearing operations in the liberated villages.
According to reports, SDF forces are now only 4.5 kilometers to the town of Dashisha southeast of Hesekê, one of the last ISIS strongholds in the region.
