Emine Şenyaşar, who lost her husband and two sons in a massacre organized by the AKP Deputy İbrahim Halil Yıldız's bodyguards and relatives on 14 June 2018 in the Suruç district of Urfa, and her son Ferit Şenyaşar, who was injured in the same attack, are continuing the justice vigil in front of the Urfa Courthouse. The vigil, launched on March 9 in 2021, marks its 557th day. The mother and her son started today’s vigil in front of the courthouse early in the morning.

“They are still persecuting us. They killed my two sons in a hospital and another one is in prison. Why is this state doing this? They are suing us rather than the murderers of my children. They ask me why I allegedly insulted public officials. People don't get killed in hospitals. Does Erdogan not know this? He also has children. I'm sick. Release my child so I go home. Why is my son not released? I do not give my blessing to those who persecute us. Prosecutors should open the hospital case,” mother Emine Şenyaşar said in a speech during the vigil today.
