Specialist sergeant Yetkin Beğen who had been detained by a group following the Lice attack on 28 June has been released late Monday evening.
The specialist sergeant had been abducted while on his way to Erzurum after the Lice attack in which one person, Medeni Yıldırım, 18, was killed and ten others were wounded by Turkish soldiers in the village of Yakacık last Friday.
The sergeant from gendarmerie special operation team had allegedly been abducted by an armed group that closed the Amed-Bingöl way to traffic for two hours and made road control Friday evening. His car was found burnt down the region one day later.
The sergeant who was released in the rural area of Hazro, near the districts of Lice and Hani, yesterday has reportedly been taken to Diyarbakır and is in good condition.
