Seven year-olds detained in Sirnak

Two 7 year-old Kurdish children was detained by Turkish police today in Silopi a district of Sirnak province.

According to local sources Turkish police detained two 7 year -old Kurdish children today for hurdling stone to security forces. Mehmet Onuk, a member of the Peace and Democracy Party (BDP) tried to stop the detention but was beaten and taken under custody by Turkish police.

The children and Onuk was taken to town's Security Directorate.

After Turkish High Electoral Commitee banned Kurdish independent candidates from participating in the election Turkish police detained more than 500 during the protests.

At least 77 were arrested by Turkish courts.
