Shops did not opened today in many cities as people keep protesting against the decision by the Election Board not to allowed Diyarbakýr MP Hatip Dicle to take his seat in parliament.
Shops in Baðlar, Cizre, Silopi, Nusaybin and Yüksekova did not opened. In the meantime people in Diyarbakýr have come out in their thousands to protest against the decision by the Board which amount to nothing less than a coup. A blow on democracy and the voters who have turned out to vote massively for jailed candidate Dicle.
Today the Labor, Democracy and Freedom Block deputies will meet to discuss the next steps to take to respond to the Board decision. The DTK (Democratic Society Congress) yesterday called on the BDP (Peace and Democracy Party) which made up the largest body of the 36 elected deputies not to enter Parliament.
