Shutters are down and shops are closed today in most Kurdish cities. People are condemning the horrible torture suffered by 24 people whose bodies have been lying in Malatya's morgue since 24 October. It is understood that the bodies might been those of Kurdish guerrillas. One body at least has indeed been identified as being the body of guerrilla Ebru Muhi Kancý who was born in Kars.
After visiting the morgue, yesterday, BDP co-chair Selahattin Demirtaþ had said that “It is a great tragedy and sadness for us to see the children of this people, who try to end the war, who demand peace and make so much effort for a solution, to lose their lives in this way.”
The bodies have been tortured and teared to pieces.
Demirtaþ had call on the people to shout their outrage and condemnation of this violence. The call is being answered today in many Kurdish cities both with the shops not opening and rallies. There will be rallies in Diyarbakýr where most shops are closed, Cizre, Hazro, Silvan, Bismil, Idil, Mardin among other places.
