The Sine Investigation Court sentenced 5 Kurdish activists to 5 months in prison for "making propaganda against the Iranian regime, aiding an opposition party and establishing an illegal organization".
According to Kolbernews, 5 Kurdish activists named Ferdin Rahmi, Eli Weysi, Mehdi Seyfi, Sirwan Abdullahi and Merziye Murad Veysi, members of the "Jiyana Kurdistan" campaign, were detained by Iranian forces on 29 April 2022, and released a few days later.
The activists were eventually sentenced to 2 years in prison by the Sine Revolutionary Court on 29 May on charges of "making propaganda against the Iranian regime, aiding an opposition party and establishing an illegal organization".
The activists appealed the verdict and the Sine Investigation Court eventually sentenced each activist to 5 months in prison.
