Sinjar Resistance Units mark the founding of the PKK

Sinjar Resistance Units (YBS) has issued a statement celebrating the 36th anniversary of the founding of the Partîya Karkerên Kurdistan (PKK, Kurdistan Worker's Party).

“As YBS forces, we are celebrating the 36th anniversary of the PKK for Leader Apo, all Kurdistan people and all the humanity resisting and waging a freedom struggle. We state that this 37th year will be the year of the freedom and victory of the Êzîdî people”, Sinjar Resistance Units said, stressing that the PKK has become a beacon of hope and inspiration, in both Sinjar and Rojava most recently, for the peoples of the Middle East.

Remarking that the PKK's spirit of resistance and struggle has also created a hope of victory for Sinjar Resistance Units, the statement recalled that PKK guerrillas reached Sinjar region for the liberation of the Êzîdî people and their lands in response to the attempts of the ISIS gangs that attempted to commit a massacre in Sinjar on 3 August.

“Their arrival gave hope to not only the Kurdish people but also the whole world, and strengthened the confidence in success and victory. On this basis, YBS units did also join the ranks alongside the PKK militants, bearing a determination and confidence to fight for the freedom of Sinjar and the Êzîdî people with this spirit”, said the YBS, and promised to attain the freedom of their people and victory in Sinjar.
