The South Down MP said: "In a letter sent by British prime minister Boris Johnson to all permanent secretaries about preparations for Brexit it is clear he is driving headlong towards a no-deal Brexit."
Sinn Féin MP Chris Hazzard has said it is clear that British Prime Minister is driving headlong towards a disastrous no-deal Brexit.
The South Down MP said: "In a letter sent by British prime minister Boris Johnson to all permanent secretaries about preparations for Brexit it is clear he is driving headlong towards a no-deal Brexit."
Hazzard replied: "Despite platitudes about wanting a deal, his policies are all now directed towards a no-deal Brexit, regardless of the obvious disastrous impact it will have on all sections of society."
Hazzard continued: "The Tory Brexiteers and their DUP allies are repeatedly ignoring the dire warnings from all sectors of just how bad a no-deal Brexit would be and are pressing ahead despite the consequences. The local cheerleaders for Brexit cannot continue with their heads in the sand while the voices against a no-deal Brexit get louder and louder."
