Sit-in for hunger strikes in front of the UN office in Geneva

Demonstrations in solidarity with the massive hunger strike protest of the Kurdish people continue around the globe.

Kurds living in Switzerland started a two-day sit-in action in front of the United Nations Office in Geneva on Thursday to draw attention to the hunger strike and death fast protests joined by thousands of people demanding the end of the isolation regime executed against Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Öcalan.

Peace Mothers in white head scarves also joined the demonstration in protest at the Turkish police violence against mothers of prisoners on hunger strike in Turkey and North Kurdistan.

Speaking here, Switzerland Democratic Kurdish Community Centre Co-chair Songül Arslan said; “We, people of Kurdistan, will continue to take to the streets to make the voice of hunger strike and death fast activists heard until the Imralı isolation torture against Mr. Öcalan is lifted.”

The protesters then visited Mehmet ali Koçak who commenced an indefinite hunger strike in front of the UN Office in Geneva on February 20.
