Sit-in against isolation in Amed

HDP Amed Provincial Organization held a sit-in to protest the absolute isolation imposed on Kurdish people's leader Abdullah Öcalan and to support the hunger strike carried out in prisons for his freedom.

Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) Amed Provincial Organization wanted to make a statement to Amed to protest the isolation imposed on Kurdish people's leader Abdullah Öcalan and to support the hunger strike that has been going on for 97 days in prisons.

HDP and Democratic Regions Party (DBP) executives, Peace Mothers Council and HDP Youth Assembly members who came to the park to make the statement in front of the Human Rights Monument in Koşuyolu Park in Bağlar district were surrounded by the police.

The police said that they would not allow the statement because t it was about isolation.

The group reacted to the prohibition and held a sit-in.
