Six soldiers died, eleven wounded in Siirt, says Governor

Siirt Governorship has made a statement concerning the attack carried out yesterday by HPG guerrillas against the Belenoluk Gendarmerie Station in Pervari, province of Siirt.

Six soldiers died and eleven were wounded when the military outpost came under attack last night around 6 p.m. with automatic rifles and rocket launchers. The gendarmes responded to the attack and six soldiers were killed in the ensuing clash.

The eleven soldiers who were injured in the clash were taken to hospitals in the neighboring Þýrnak and Van provinces.

The statement underlined that the military operations in the region continue uninterrupted.

HPG released the name of one guerrilla who lost his life in the attack on 21 September in Siirt when a car was mistakenly fired at causing the death of 4 civilians.
