Sixteen civilians claimed missing in clashes area

Sixteen villagers in Daðlýca region of Hakkari are reported to be missing since clashes broke out in the area following the attacks by People’s Defense Forces (HPG) guerrillas on three separate military points on Tuesday morning.

According to report by DIHA, no news has been received from sixteen villagers who have been in the area to mow grass and herd cattle. Villagers are waiting for news from their missing relatives in Kamýþlý (Sineve) military post as points of entry and exit in the region have been blocked by soldiers in the region. According to reports received, the operation in the area continues with the support of over five thousand soldiers, village guards and special operations teams as well as dozens of military helicopters.

The forest fire reported on Tuesday by People’s Defense Forces Press Office HPG-BIM still continues in the clashes area. In a statement after the meeting of Hakkari Gendarme Command Colonel Mahmut Çaðlayan and Security Director Tugan Ergüder, it was reported that the number of wounded soldiers rose to 19.

Turkish warplanes have been bombing the guerrilla-controlled areas in South Kurdistan since 17.00 local time today.

The bombardment in Zap continued in Zagros and Avasin regions of Media Defense Areas.
