Sixth group of guerrillas reached Media Defense Areas

The sixth group of HPG (People's Defense Forces) guerrillas coming from the region of Botan has reached Media Defense Areas early Monday morning.

The group, formed by 16 Kurdish guerrillas, 10 of them women, was welcomed by HPG commanders in the guerrilla-controlled area in western Kurdistan.

Speaking at the ceremony after the arrival of the group, Kurdish Women's Movement YJA Star Headquarters Commander Delal Amed said that the group has arrived in Media Defense Areas as a part of the process aimed at the achievement of democratic liberation and free life. She said that they believed the Kurdish guerrillas will succesfully finalize the process Kurdish leader Öcalan initiated.

Agit Ziryan, commander of the sixth group to reach Kandil in the withdrawal process, said that their group, like all other groups, had faced problems during the withdrawal such as natural conditions, military activity, surveillance, reconnaissance flights and activities of a small counter unit.
