Socialists on three-day solidarity hunger strike in the Hague

Members of the Institute for International Culture and Art (VEKSAV) launched a three-day hunger strike in the Netherlands in solidarity with activists on hunger strike demanding the end of the isolation of Abdullah Öcalan.

The European Confederation of Oppressed Immigrants (AvEG-Kon) has commenced solidarity hunger strikes in several locations on 3-4-5 May to step up the struggle against the isolation imposed on Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Öcalan.

The Institute for International Culture and Art (VEKSAV), a constituent of AvEG-Kon, commenced a three-day hunger strike in the Federation of Workers from Turkey in the Netherlands (HTİF) offices in the Hague city of the Netherlands.

On the first day of the hunger strike, socialists attended an event in the Kurdish Community Centre in the Hague where the indefinite hunger strike of Kurdish activists Hüseyin Yıldız and Hasbi Çakıcı continues on the 106th day.

The socialist activists called on everyone to step up the struggle against the isolation of the Kurdish leader.

On the third day of their protest, the hunger strike activists attended the Kurdish Community Centre congress and highlighted the need to enhance the struggle.
