Solidarity actions with the hunger strikers in Europe

Every day several demonstrations and actions are being organised all over Europe in solidarity with the hunger strikers.

Protests in solidarity with hunger strikers are being promoted all over Europe in support to the hunger strikers demanding the end of isolation against Abdullah Öcalan.

Marignan

Demonstrations against the isolation imposed on Öcalan are being organised around the city of Marseilles in France.

In Marignan, Kurds people held a rally in solidarity with the hunger strike resistance and against the isolation of Öcalan.

Activists gathered in front of the municipality carrying banners and photographs of Öcalan and Leyla Güven and chanting slogans.

A three-people delegation delivered a file to the secretary of the mayor.

Zurich

Activists gathered in the Bellevue area of Zurich to join the rally organised by the Solidarity with Hunger Strikes Platform.

Activists wearing white gowns with photographs of hunger strike protestors protested the silence of international institutions, especially the CPT, about the hunger strikes.

Today, Saturday, an action will be held at Bürkliplatz area in Zurich at 12 pm.

Basel

An action was organised in front of Basel central railway station by Solidarity with Hunger Strikes Platform.

Activists carried photos of the hunger strikers and Abdullah Öcalan and protested the silence of the European institution.

London

A three-day solidarity hunger strike and action is taking place in London, in front of Manor House tube station.

The action is organised by the Migrant Workers Cultural Association (GIK-DER) and the Socialist Women's Union (SKB).

Fifteen people joined the solidarity hunger strike in the solidarity tent which was visited by many people.

In the press statement on behalf of Gik-Der and SKB, it was stated that the Turkish state turned the entire country into a prison and imposed slavery on the people.

The statement said: “The Turkish state, represented by the fascist AKP and MHP, has turned the country into a prison by imposing slavery, poverty, terror, fear and isolation on our oppressed peoples.”

The statement also called on people to join the action to be held today, Saturday, in Trafalgar Square.

Braunschweig

In the city of Braunschweig a protest against the absolute isolation of Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan, was organised.

A 2-day tent action ended with a press release on Friday.

Organized by the Martyr Zozan Cûdî Women Commune the action was in solidarity with hunger strikers.
