Visitors from different countries of Europe are bringing their solidarity to hunger strikers in Strasbourg.
The hunger strike in the French city has been carried out to demand an end to the isolation regime imposed on Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan.
The people of Kurdistan, as well as many revolutionary institutions, support the actions which are spreading all over Europe, inspired by the fast of DTK Co-chair and HDP MP Leyla Güven who is fasting since November 7 in protest at the aggravated isolation on Öcalan.
A group of revolutionaries from Partizan visited the hunger strikers in Strasbourg.
Speaking on behalf of Partizan, Ali Akyüz, who was in hunger strike actions for 152 days in Ümraniye Prison during the death fast of 19 December 2000, commended everyone who is on hunger strike.
Akyüz emphasized that it was the task of a revolutionary to adopt this action, which is carried out against the severe isolation imposed by the State against the Kurdish people's leader.
Arda Eren was also part of the visiting delegation. He recalled the ongoing hunger strike carried out by MKP-ML prisoner Kadir Karabak and MKP prisoner Esat Naci Yildirim who are now on death fast for 96 days. Eren said: "We salute the resistance of all the prisoners. The hunger strike is an important weapon. Both in the Kurdish Freedom Movement history and the Turkish Revolutionary movement history, the hunger strike has been an important form of resistance developed against the enemy. I want to reiterate our support for the hunger strikes initiated by our patriotic friends to end the isolation imposed on PKK leader Öcalan. We stand beside our friends to the end.”
European friends should support hunger strike actions
Fatoş Göksungur, co-chair of the KCDK-E, who visited the activists in Strasbourg, confirmed that Kurds will resist everywhere against isolation.
Göksungur added: “The aim of this action is to break the isolation imposed on our Leader. We commend the hunger strike carried out by our friend, HDP Hakkari MP Leyla Güven.”
