The activities of the Solidarity Committee with Kurdistan in Colombia aiming to revive the solidarity and brotherhood between peoples continue.

The Solidarity Committee with Kurdistan in Bogota held seminars in two different places on 3 and 4 March to prepare for Newroz. The seminars were held in the Casa-Taller of the Arto Arte collective in the San Antonio neighbourhood and at the Colegio Instituto Cerros del Sur (ICES) in Ciudad Bolivar.

Activists from various social organizing processes in the southeast of Bogotá attended the event in Casa-Taller. After giving a brief information about Kurdistan, a discussion was held on the current status of matriarchal societies, the history of the Kurdistan freedom movement, democratic confederalism and self-government practices.

The second event was held at the ICES school located in the Potosí neighbourhood of the Ciudad Bolivar district of Bogota, which has been voluntarily organizing the education of the children and youth of this neighbourhood for over 40 years.

After the earthquakes in Kurdistan, the Colombian Kurdistan Solidarity Committee organized a donation campaign for earthquake victims to send to Heyva Sor a Kurdistanê.

A week of events to mark Newroz

Bogota Kurdistan Solidarity Committee, together with its members AluCine-club, la Redada, Rojinegro, Acto Latino, Corporación Colombiana de Teatro and la Hoguera, will screen Kurdish films between 14 and 17 March.

The program is as follows:

- Tuesday 14 March: Screening of Evîn Di Rûyê at Qirkirinê and Mal. Time: 17:45. Location: La Hoguera (Calle 45 #22-55).

- Wednesday 15 March: Screening of Berfin. Time: 17:45. Location: Corporación Colombiana de Teatro (Calle 12 #2-65).

- Thursday 16 March: Florreciendo en el desierto, Meme y Gule, Después de la guerra- Piştî Şer (short films). It's 17:45. Location: La Redada (calle 17 #2-51).

- Friday 17 March: Screening of Daren bi tenê and Sîya Cîya yê Kurmanç. Time: 17:45. Location: Teatro Acto Latino (carrera 16 # 58A-55).
