Strasbourg hunger strike on day 142

The indefinite and non-alternating hunger strikes against the isolation of Abdullah Öcalan continue with great resolve.

14 Kurdish activists have been on an indefinite hunger strike in the French city of Strasbourg since 17 December 2018 demanding the end of the isolation imposed on Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Öcalan. The fast of the Strasbourg activists is on day 142.

Speaking about the meeting granted to Öcalan’s lawyers with their client on May 2nd, as was announced by the Asrın Law Office lawyers yesterday, Strasbourg activists said they considered the meeting to be important but stressed that their demands have not been met yet and the lawyers’ meeting took place under conditions of isolation.

“This resistance extending from prisons to abroad will continue until the isolation is broken and this immoral politics is brought to an end,” announced the hunger strikers in Strasbourg.

The activists on hunger strike at 273, Avenue de Colmar 67100 are receiving solidarity visits from the Kurds and their friends in Europe every day.
