Strasbourg resistance: Day 87

Hunger striker Sarikaya indicated the necessity of increasing the resistance with different actions all over Europe and said that the resistance can destroy the walls of Imrali.

The hunger strike by 14 Kurdish activists in Strasbourg demanding the end of isolation of Öcalan continues with determination.

Despite the doctors' statements about the health of the activists warning that new problems are arising every day, the hunger strikers are determined to continue and said: “Don’t talk about our health, talk about breaking isolation.”

Third group on solidarity hunger strike

On Tuesday, the 86th day of the hunger strike, Kurds from all over Europe visited the activists.

Meanwhile a third group of activists went on a solidarity hunger strike in front of the Council of Europe. This group is coming from Switzerland and includes Imam Kartal, Salman Örge, Imam Akgün, Fatma Beseli, Dilişan Sincar, Ali İhsan Özyürek, Cihan Yılmaz, Ekrem Evren, Mahsun Nusaybin and Aysel Argın.

The third group of hunger strikers went to visit the 14 activists in the evening and said in a statement that they will be the voice of the resistance action.

Speaking on behalf of the 14 activists on hunger strike, politician Mustafa Sarikaya welcomed the solidarity group and underlined that although they are on the 86th day of fast, the important thing is not their health.

Reiterating that they went on hunger strike with the goal of ending isolation, Sarikaya said that they will continue their action with determination.

Sarikaya: Focus on breaking isolation

In addition to the solidarity hunger strike, Sarikaya indicated the necessity of increasing the resistance with different actions all over Europe and said that the resistance can destroy the walls of Imrali.

Sarikaya stressed that the important thing is to keep focusing on the resistance and to break isolation in order to prevent any death.

Many Kurds from France and Germany also visited the hunger strikers.
