While students in Yüksekova/Hakkari protest against YSK’s decision by boycotting schools, a group of young people made barricades on Cengiz Topel Street.

Students in Yüksekova boycotted schools to protest against the veto decision of the Elections Board for 7 independent candidates of the “Labor, Liberty and Democracy Block". Going to a school in mass at early morning hours, students, again massively, left the school and started a march to the democratic solution tent iin the district. Chanting slogans “Pressures cannot intimidate us”, “Bismil people are not alone”, students ended the march in front of the tent where they burnt their neckties and books.

Demonstrations began at early morning hours in the district today. Coming together at Cengiz Topel Street, young demonstrators made barricades on the road, lighted fires and chanted slogans while intensive security measures were taken in the district.
