Dicle University Free Students Association (DÜÖ-DER) organized a protest on Tuesday to draw attention to the ill prisoners and the ongoing hunger strikes in prisons.

In the action supported by the Medical Chamber, the Human Rights Association (ÝHD), the Union of Health Workers (SES) and the Federation of Associations of Help with Families of Prisoners (TUHAD-FED), DÜÖ-DER member Muhittin Kaya has noted, “The Minister of Justice left the sick prisoners to death as he released 15 thousand ordinary prisoners with the new law. The reports by the Forensic Medicine Institution supporting this approach is against the ethics of medicine.”

DÜÖ-DER members demanded the immediate release of ill prisoners and called on the public to be sensitive about the issue.
