Students from the Revolutionary Youth Union (Dev-Genç Birliði) have started a three-day hunger strike for the release of the 600 jailed students.

The students have noted in a press conference that their friends were being arrested for participating in press conferences, wearing keffiyehs (the Palestinian scarf), carriying lemons (usually to minimize the effect of tear gas which police is using frequently these days) or the Communist Manifesto on them.

The hunger strike will continue for three days in the Workers Socialist Party (ÝSP) Adana Branch building.
