Diyarbakır Chief Prosecutor’s Office has prepared a summary of proceedings against HDP (Peoples’ Democratic Party) MP Sibel Yiğitalp. The summary claims Yiğitalp’s speech in the extraordinary congress held by the HDP district offices in the Sur district of Amed on August 28, 2016 constitutes a crime.

The summary includes accusations of “propaganda for a terrorist organization” and “openly disparaging the government of the Republic of Turkey or the military and security forces of the state” against Yiğitalp, states that Yiğitalp’s speech in the congress was broadcast live on Med Nuçe TV and includes a transcript of her speech on the destruction and clashes in Sur and current political developments.

The summary claims Yiğitalp’s parliamentary immunity should be lifted and has been submitted to the Ministry of Justice to be presented to the Parliament.
