As part of the "The Time Has Come, Freedom for Abdullah Öcalan" campaign launched to demand freedom of Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan, a declaration was published by a newspaper in Switzerland as in many parts of the world.
The workers' newspaper published by the Unia union, which has 16 federations and 380 thousand registered members, featured a declaration text demanding Abdullah Öcalan's freedom.
The newspaper in question is sent by mail to its members in each canton in three languages.
On February 12, similar declarations were featured by Saffron Walden Reporter, Inlington and Hackney Gazette in the UK.
Barking and Degenham News published in England featured declarations on February 11 and a full-page declaration was published by Il Manifesto, one of Italy's most renowned and prominent newspapers, on the same day.
On February 11, a full-page declaration was featured by Newham Recorder by the UNITE and GMB, the largest unions in Britain, saying "The time has come to end the inhuman isolation and 20 years of imprisonment of Abdullah Öcalan."
