Ten French internationalists: We owe Kurds, we can't abandon them

Ten French internationalists who joined the YPG in the fight against ISIS published an appeal on Le Figaro newspaper and call on the international opinion "not to betray Kurds".

In a joint statement published in the Le Figaro newspaper 10 French internationalists who joined the YPG in the fight against ISIS call on the international opinion to act to stop Turkey's aggression of Northern and Eastern Syria.

Donald Trump's decision to withdraw American soldiers, said the 10 French internationalists was "a betrayal of their Kurdish allies. We owe to the Kurds."

The French volunteers emphasized that the struggle against ISIS was possible only thanks to the hard struggle of the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF). "We owe them - said the 10 internationalists - the victory against ISIS."

The joint call underlined how "Turkish President Erdoğan wants to destroy the Democratic Confederalism system. We cannot leave Kurds alone. Erdogan is an ally of our enemies."

The appeal also warned that "this tragedy will also have consequences for Europe, Erdogan wants to establish a new Ottoman caliphate."

The appeal suggested that hundreds of ISIS people had the opportunity to escape after the Turkish attacks.

The 10 internationalists called on the French government to "shore more courageous and  express its opposition to the occupation as well as use all means to stop the occupation."
