Ten people including some BDP (People and Democracy Party) administrators have been taken into custody in Mersin following house raids carried out in the early hours of the morning. The people detained are alleged to have “organized demonstrations and protest acts and bringing members in the organization”.
With the support of Special Operations police, Mersin Police Department Anti-Terror Branch police carried out simultaneous raids on ten houses at 04.00 this morning.
Among the people taken into custody are reported BDP PM Member Seyithan Kaya, BDP Mersin Provincial Chairs Nurettin Atuð, Osman Aka, Akdeniz Municipality Members Selim Ekinci and Hasan Arýk, DÖKH Activists Bedriye Bükte, Necmettin Pala, Nasýr Özmen.
While the investigation file was put under confidentiality, detainees will reportedly be taken to court on Wednesday.
