In the quagmire of the crisis ravaging in Syria, every soul has gotten its share of the suffering, sorrow and pain. In other words, even children were on the receiving end of this unscrupulousness of the war for hegemony, and there are dozens of stories packed with ordeal and anguish that are haunting the children's memories, rendering them to tristful and anxious kids. The situation of Raqqa's children does in that respect not differ from that of other children of Syria.
But like a saying has it: "After darkness, there is light", the light which saved Raqqa's children from the darkness of the barbarians of this century, are the fighters of the SDF.
Two of those kids, who were finally rescued by the SDF fighters, spoke to ANHA news agency of the misery and woe they have suffered.
One of those children is Muna El-Ismail, who was rescued together with her mother from the clutches of the ISIS gangs by the SDF fighters, wept and said that she could still not believe to have reached finally a safe zone. Muna, who lost her father, said, instead of going to the other kids playing around, in a grown-up manner: "Children were killed in front of my eyes. There is no one left anymore, with whom I could play."
When Muna, her mother and some other families tried desperately to reach the safe zones, five land mines exploded, leading to the death of all those families that accompanied them. Only Muna and her mother managed to escape.
15 years old Eyhem Ehmed cannot recall for what reason he had been taken prisoner by the ISIS gangs. All he knows is, that the ISIS thugs took him captive without any reason and subjected him to constant torture.
The moment the ISIS gangs swept over Raqqa and invaded the city, the first thing they did was to seize all schools and use those as their military headquarters.
Eyhem is one of those kids, who have been deprived of their schools. He still remembers vividly the day, on which the ISIS gangs chased them out of their school and he said: "ISIS attacked our school, they shot at us and they deployed their snipers on the roof of our school. Only two of my friends were left, but both were killed in the bombardments".
Eyhem Ehmed faced enormous hardship and every day tears were rolling down his cheeks. The one year old infants of his brother and his uncle were massacred, his brother stepped on a mine and lost both his legs.
Little Eyhem was rescued but he left behind many other children, that were killed in their own homes by the ISIS gangs, and tried to weep himself into sedation.
