The Basque Independent left rejects political police operation against BDP
The Basque Independent left has strongly denounced the political police operation developed by the Turkish authorities against the BDP.
"The majority of those detained - says the press release - are deputies, local administrators, executives and members of the party. These kind of operations are totally against the respect of civil and political rights".
The press release points out that "the BDP has obtained 36 deputies in the last elections. A popular support which is the consequence of the proposals developed by the BDP, proposals aimed at the establishment of a peace scenario for the recognition of the democratic rights of the Kurdish people".
The Abertzale Left also underlines that "with this operation it seems clear that the Turkish state has no interest in a democratic resolution to this conflict". And for this reason the Basque political movement call on Ankara to "stop all of the human right violations against the Kurdish people as well as the mass detentions."
