The march of thousands of people to the Madimak Otel, which was staged despite the governor's prohibition, was prevented by police who blocked all the ways to the hotel at early hours today.

Following a tension rising between the mass and police when some demonstrators wanted to hang a "Museum of Shame" signboard on the hotel which has recently been changed into a "Science and Culture Center" by the AKP, the mass was attacked by police with gas bombs during the readout of the victims' names. While many people got wounded during the police attack which lasted a short time thanks to the interference of the organizing committee, tension continues between the mass and police.

While the organizing committee is making a megaphone-call to people to 'not to be provoked by police', the mass is chanting slogans to condemn the massacre...
