Thirteen Kurdish students taken into custody

As AKP government’s detention operations against Kurds continue uninterrupted, thirteen students were on 3 April taken into custody as a result of Hatay centered police operation.

Within the scope of simultaneous operations, two Kurdish students were taken into custody in Antakya, seven in Ýskenderun, and four others in Adana, Kayseri, Diyarbakýr and Mardin.

As all detained students were taken to the Security Directorate of Hatay, their demand to see their lawyers was not allowed on the grounds of “confidentiality”. While the reason of detentions hasn’t been disclosed, it was reported that detained students received education in Hatay two years ago.
