Thousand families fled to Kobani

Thousands of families in the west Kurdistan cities of Rakka and Til Ebyad (Girê Spî) have recently moved to the city of Kobani as al-Qaeda linked ISIL (Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant) and al-Nusra gang groups have intensified their attacks against the region.

Kobanê People's House has formed an eight person committee to deal with the organization and distribution of humanitarian aids collected in North Kurdistan for these families who have fled the attacks and threats they were subjected to by radical Islamist groups.

The establishment of the committee was followed by the formation of local commissions which have determined the urgent needs of the families and distributed the aids sent from north Kurdistan.

Kobanê People's House authorities have stated that the aids from north Kurdistan have been distributed to 6,548 families in different parts of the city. They said the aid committee and local commissions registered the families and paid strict attention to ensure transparency during the distribution of aids.

The committee and commissions are also taking care of the families concerning their housing and other problems.
